Ballet Conservatory

Our ballet conservatory is designed to raise the level of instruction higher. This is for dancers who are looking to do ballet for more than the weekly recreational class. Dancers with the goal of being in pointe shoes, for dancing beyond high school, or dancers who just simply love ballet and want to take it to the next level are encouraged to join. Conservatory dancers are required to take ballet classes two times a week, plus the pre-pointe/pointe class and the conservatory choreography class. They will perform in the Nexus Pointe Christmas show as well as take the lead/principal roles in the end of the year ballet Nexus Showcase, and also may perform at local venues and special performances. Auditions are required as well as a contract commitment. Please contact info@nexusky.com for more information or interest in auditioning for the Nexus Pointe Ballet Conservatory.

Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Utilizing pointe shoes in ballet is an exciting accomplishment for dancers! However, we take the severe toll it takes on the body and the safety precautions for our students very seriously. In order to achieve “pointe status”/take our pointe classes, the dancer must successfully accomplish certain levels/tasks first, as well as they must meet and maintain certain requirements. These are, but are not limited to, a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week in addition to the pre-pointe/pointe class and passing the “pointe test” given by our ballet director.
