Hallie Hodson
Co-Owner / Director / Choreographer / Lead Teacher / Ballet Conservatory Head Mistress/Sr Competition Team Head Coach
Hallie Hodson is not only a co-owner and director of the studio, but she is also the head coach for the Nexus Pointe Diamond Dancers Senior Team. A dancer since the age of 5, she discovered her calling to teach dance in the 7th grade and began immediately as a teacher’s assistant and has taught as an assistant or lead coach/teacher ever since. In junior high, Hallie joined the award winning Red Oak Highsteppers, a Texas school 48 member drill/dance team, and she earned the officer position of lieutenant. She then went on to high school, where she was in color guard and a member (and captain) of the Trinity Tigerettes Drill/Dance Team.
Hallie started choreographing for various high schools in the Dallas area during her junior and senior years in high school, where she choreographed for drill teams, dance teams, and even high school varsity color guard programs. She also performed with the award winning Aftershock Dance Company (a dance company with the world renowned Epicenter for the Arts in Southlake/Dallas, TX). She graduated high school at the age of 16 and earned her Associate’s Degree from Navarro College (Texas) also at the age of 17 and then moved to Kentucky.
Hallie earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Morehead State University in May 2020 where she was a member of the MSU Dance Team. While at MSU, she was also a member of the college’s Dance Company as well as the Delta Chi Xi Academic Dance Fraternity — all of which allowed her to perform pom, hip hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, ballet, and even tap at the college level. Hallie was also a member of Delta Gamma at MSU.
Hallie has eight years of assistant teaching experience and six years of lead teaching/coaching in dance. In 2019, she had the opportunity to spend the summer in New York City at ABT (American Ballet Theatre) after being accepted into their teacher certification program for ballet. Hallie is also working on her certification to teach Vaganova Method Ballet — As she incorporates both Vaganova and Cecchetti Methods so that her students are the most prepared for all colleges (as at most colleges, they teach only one or the other, and so she wants her student dancers to be prepared for both).
As an educator, Hallie believes that everyone is uniquely created and designed for their own purpose. While growing in their skills and talents with Jesus at the “NEXUS” (Center Point) of it all as they grow, they can find their purpose and discover their true value and worth in their identity in Christ. Hallie’s ultimate goal is to allow each student to further their skill and knowledge in dance and glorify the Lord while doing it. She works to help the student develop his/her passions and encourages living a positive lifestyle spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Hallie is qualified to teach ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, military, pom, musical theater/novelty, high kick, and hip hop.
